At UNMIK's request, the Interpol has issued warrants for five Serbs suspected of murdering the member of the Kosovo police special unit ROSU Enver Zumberi near Zubin Potok in July 2011, during the illegal attempt to deploy Kosovo customs officers at the administrative crossings with Serbia.
Interpol warrants issued for Ratomir Bozovic, Radovan Radic, Milovan Vlaskovic, Slobodan Vucinic and Dusan Jovanovic are published on the internet.
UNMIK spokesperson Olivier Salgado told Tanjug that UNMIK requested from the Interpol to issue international warrants for persons suspected for Zumberi's murder.
He said that UNMIK received from EULEX the necessary documentation on Thursday, after which it contacted the Interpol to issue international warrants, adding that only UNMIK has the authority to request from Interpol the issuing of international warrants for persons charged with severe criminal acts.
Immediately after the wounding of Zumberi, who died of inflicted injuries on July 26, EULEX searched several houses owned by Serbs, and confiscated certain evidence. EULEX also made a reconstruction of Zumberi's murder within the investigation.
EULEX have not yet arrested any of the persons suspected of murdering the Kosovo police officer, who was posthumously declared a hero by Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga.
