About 450,000 hectares are expected to be sown with wheat in Serbia this fall, which will, with normal yield, suffice for domestic needs, and leave a small amount for export, Director of the Zita Srbije wheat association Vukosav Sakovic told Tanjug Wednesday.

About 450,000 hectares are expected to be sown with wheat in Serbia this fall, which will, with normal yield, suffice for domestic needs, and leave a small amount for export, Director of the Zita Srbije wheat association Vukosav Sakovic told Tanjug Wednesday.

Sakovic said that the current weather is favorable for crops.

He pointed out that the price of wheat is the most stable among the prices of all agricultural products, adding that the price of one kilogram of wheat has been between RSD 17.5 and 18 since four months ago when harvest was reaped.

"Unlike the global market, where prices were in constant drop, our prices did not go down, and we currently have more expensive wheat compared to other neighboring countries," Sakovic underlined.
