World's top tennis player, Serbia's Novak Djokovic, has won the prestigious Laureus award for the world's best sportsman in 2011, the sports academy announced Monday.

World's top tennis player, Serbia's Novak Djokovic, has won the prestigious Laureus award for the world's best sportsman in 2011, the sports academy announced Monday.

The award for the best female athlete went to Kenyan long distance runner Vivian Cheruiyot, while the Barcelona football club was declared team of the year.
