Kosovo Energy Corporation's (KEC) lawsuit against Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and Elektrokosmet has no basis and is another one in a series of one-sided moves by Pristina, calculated in order to put more pressure on the Serbs in northern Kosovo, Serbia's Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic said on Tuesday.

Bogdanovic told Tanjug that both EPS and Elektrokosmet operated legally in supplying power to the people of northern Kosovo, and not KEC.

"The Ministry for Kosovo calls on consumers in northern Kosovo to continue using the service and paying EPS, that is Elektrokosmet, for it, as they are the only power supply companies in this part of Kosovo," the minister noted.

According to him, the KEC move makes no sense and will have no effect, because energy has yet to be discussed in the talks between Belgrade and Pristina once they are resumed.

KEC filed a lawsuit against the Republic of Serbia on Monday, claiming failure to fulfil legal obligations stipulated in the Agreement on the Energy Sector.
