Libyan embattled strongman Muammar Gaddafi is ready to begin talks to transfer power, his spokesman has said on Sunday, world media reported.
Spokesman Moussa Ibrahim reportedly said the toppled leader's son Saadi would lead the talks.
Libya's rebel government will not negotiate with Gaddafi unless he surrenders, a top National Transitional Council official told Reuters on Sunday, adding rebel authorities did not know Gaddafi's whereabouts.
Gaddafi's apparent offer of talks was dismissed as "delusional" by Britain. Foreign Secretary William Hague said the National Transitional Council (NTC) was already in charge of the country.
All that was needed from the fugitive former dictator was to order his remaining forces to lay down their weapons, Hague added.
Meanwhile, desperately-needed fuel and water supplies are expected to arrive in the Libyan capital Tripoli later.
More than 50 charred bodies have been found in a burnt-out warehouse in the south of the capital.
