The licenses and permits transfer into one unique centre makes it easier for the investors.

The Council of Ministers approved today the creation of one stop shop on licenses and permits in energy field at the NLC.

PM Berisha considered the decision an important step to facilitate the issuing of licenses and permits to the investors in the field of energy.

“A great number of required licenses and permits for investments in energy field get all transferred into the one stop shop at the National Licensing Center, - said PM Berisha and this marks a real success achieved within the first year of its existence.

During the recent two months, the Ministry of Economy has reviewed all the required legal and sub legal procedures and by this decision they mark a big step forward toward facilitation of granting licenses and permits to the investors in the energy field.”

The prime minister evaluated that the decision is important even because it deals a blow to bureaucracy and corruption.

“The transfer of licenses and permits into one unique centre makes it much easier for the investors. Secondly, it deals a blow to corruption and bureaucracy as the Centre informs the minister right away, the prime minister and so on, in case the relevant agency fails to respond in the time defined by law about licenses and permits. I think this is extraordinarily important.”

PM Berisha reaffirmed that energy remains a major priority of the government and the country.

“If over 30 years time the country didn’t record even a single source of energy, it is a pleasure to inform the Albanians that during the recent three years there are signed 200 contracts on hydropower stations of different production capacity. It is signed the contract on Devoll River cascade at over 1 billion euros. And serious companies are working intensively to build there one of the most successful works of the time; there is intensive work done in Kalivaç; there is intensive work underway in Ashta as well as in 36 other small and middle-sized hydropower stations and it is a pleasure to say that 2-3 of them are ready for inauguration with a capacity of 8-10 MW. The energy sources are getting increased more and more”, said the prime minister.

The investment process in energy field, said the prime minister, is not simply a process of licenses and permits; it is rather more complex, but the licenses and permits get the most excellent response by this decision.
