Bulgaria’s landline providers should come up with a common number portability process by Tuesday, it was decided at yesterday’s meeting between carriers and the market watchdog.

Mobile and landline phone users should be able to switch operators without changing their number by visiting an office of the accepting operator.

The process will be free of charge and take no less than one week. The accepting operator will pay to the donating one a lower fee of BGN 18 compared with the current BGN 25.

Under the current procedure, customers need to visit an office of both operator and pay a fee of BGN 5.
