EU financing cooperation program of Serbia and Romania

The program of cross border cooperation between Romania and Serbia, which consists of 46 projects, will be financed with EUR17 million from European funds.

The program of cross border cooperation between Romania and Serbia, which consists of 46 projects, will be financed with EUR17 million from European funds, the Romanian Ministry for Regional Development and Tourism stated on July 7.

The cooperation projects relate to economic and social development, the environment, preparations for emergency situations and promotion of exchange among the communities on both sides of the border.

The cooperation projects were approved at the meeting of the joint committee for monitoring the cooperation program, with participation of representatives of Romania, Serbia and the European Commission.

The projects relating to the environment and preparations for emergency situations will have to be harmonized with the Danube Strategy.

The projects of crossborder cooperation between Serbia and Romania will be financed by the IPA preaccession funds of the EU.
