The fiscal reserve of Bulgaria in the end of September 2010 equals 3.3 billion euro, which is 1.1 billion euro more than the minimal level, defined in the State Budget Law, Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov announced in parliament.

Limitations in the law for the 2011 budget are expected to make the state debt next year stay below the mark of 14.3 billion levs or 7.1 billion euro, which is 18.55% of the expected GDP, Mr. Djankov added.

According to the minister, Bulgaria currently has the lowest external debt in comparison to all EU Member States, with exception of Estonia.
