Consequences of the global crisis are felt on markets across BiH. Citizens spend less on fruits, vegetables, diaries and other market goods.
According to official information in the first seven month of this year on markets across the BiH Federation around 2.5 million BAM less was spent then in the same period last year.
Citizens have spent 27.3 million BAM totally from January until July on agricultural goods. Beside cereals, the sale of fruits and vegetables has dropped. The Sarajevo Consumer Union claims they are not surprised by these indicators.
“We have analyses that show that citizens receive 500 BAM salaries and spend 80 percent of that on food. In such a situation people have to save on shopping for food, and they must be rational. This is a consequence of the recession, but also of a bad economic policy within the country”, said Secretary of the Union Mesud Lakota.
