The Croatian National Protection and Rescue Directorate (DUZS) reports that around 20 houses are flooded in Glibusa settlement, and Croatian media adds that the Glibusa town center is flooded as well.

The Neretva River flooded a part of the city of Metkovic (Dubrovnik-Neretva county of Croatia) located at the lower watershed of the river’s right bank, for the second time this year.

The Croatian National Protection and Rescue Directorate (DUZS) reports that around 20 houses are flooded in Glibusa settlement, and Croatian media adds that the Glibusa town center is flooded as well.

Media reports that one of the causes of the flood is the release of huge amounts of water (about 1.000 m3/s) from Jablanica hydro power plant due to heavy rain.

The DUZS sent water pumps and boats to Metkovic.

In the Herzegovina-Neretva county of Bosnia-Herzegovina, hydro power plants are stopped in order not to release additional amounts of water in the Neretva River, and protection measures for the riverside houses are also introduced.

Other rivers in the area of Siroki Breg, Gruda and Ravno also burst their banks, thus endangering houses and flooding arable land.

The condition in the town of Gospic, which was flooded a few days ago, is normalizing, and the Lika River returned to its bed.
