After four years of successful representation of NATO in BiH, Norway has now handed over the role of NATO Contact Point Embassy to Turkey.

After four years of successful representation of NATO in BiH, Norway has now handed over the role of NATO Contact Point Embassy to Turkey.

In this function the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey will serve as a contact point for NATO issues and will disseminate information about the role and policies of the NATO Alliance.

During a small ceremony hosted by NATO HQ Sarajevo today, Ambassador Jan Braathu of Norway highlighted the tremendous progress seen in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s efforts to deepen its relations with NATO.

Both Ambassador Braathu and Ambassador Vefahan Ocak of Turkey pledged their continued support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path toward full NATO- membership.

Brigadier General David Enyeart, NATO’s Senior Military Representative in BiH, expressed his appreciation for the excellent cooperation between NATO HQ Sarajevo and the Royal Norwegian Embassy over the past 4 years.

At the same time General Enyeart expressed his desire to continue such cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, and promised his full support to Ambassador Ocak.
