Bulgaria’s embassy in Tokyo reports no injuries among the more than 200 Bulgarian nationals it has contacted after parts of the country’s north-east were devastated by a record-scale earthquake and tsunami and while there are continuing concerns about possible further nuclear accidents.

The situation in Japan was moving towards recovery mode, according to the Foreign Ministry in Sofia on March 13 2011.
The ministry advised against non-essential trips to Japan in the coming days.
If necessary, the embassy in Tokyo was prepared to assist Bulgarians in the areas of Japan hit by the succession of disasters.
