Representatives of 16 Serbian companies on visit to Slovenia

A delegation of Serbian businessmen conferred Wednesday with their Slovenian colleagues in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) in Ljubljana on possibilities of cooperation and legal issues in the area of waste management.

A delegation of Serbian businessmen conferred Wednesday with their Slovenian colleagues in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) in Ljubljana on possibilities of cooperation and legal issues in the area of waste management.

The visit of the Serbian delegation, which will take place from March 22 to 24, was organized in the cooperation between the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and the GZS, and its aim is to promote economic cooperation in the areas of recycling and dangerous waste disposal.

The delegation of the Serbian businessmen comprises representatives of the following companies: Bozic i sinovi, Delta Maxi, Investfarm Impeks, Jugoimpeks, Kemis, Koncern Farmakom MB, paper and cupboard producer Umka, Kolubara mine basin, etc.

The Wednesday session was opened by the address of GSZ Director General Samo Hribar. The meeting tabled the new EU directive on waste management, laying particular focus on dangerous waste, and the Slovenian hosts set a good example of dangerous waste disposal and revitalization of heavy-metal polluted soils.

The regulations and experience in waste management in Serbia were presented by advisor to the PKS chairman Sinisa Mitrovic. The Serbian businessmen held constructive talks with representatives of 23 Slovenian recycling companies including Ekora, Nozi Ravne, Gorenje Surovina, Bijola, Sirenko, Ekoni and Pup Velenje.
