National Geographic includes Istria, Croatia in the list of top 10 holiday destinations for 2011.

National Geographic Traveler has recommended Croatia’s Istria region as one of the hottest spots for this year’s summer vacation.

The article praises the cleanliness of Istria’s beaches little known to North American travellers more familiar with the Dalmatian coast and Dubrovnik.

It singles out Medulin Riviera with the hidden jewel Cape Kamenjak for all those who are up for an edge-of-the-world experience on these rocky beaches.

National Geographic reminds that everyone should visit the peninsula's main city Pula and its Arena amphitheatre dating to the first century A.D.
