Europe Day to be marked with concerts, other events in Sofia

The organizers include the Sofia City Hall, the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria and the European Parliament Information Office in this country.

Europe Day, May 9, will be celebrated with concerts and other events in Sofia.

The organizers include the Sofia City Hall, the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria and the European Parliament Information Office in this country.

On 8 May an open-air stage will be arranged outside the National Palace of Culture. A book fair for free exchange of books and book donations will be held and students from the student theater at New Bulgarian University will act famous European fairy-tales.

On 9 May the European Parliament Information Office in Sofia jointly with the Sofia City Hall organizes a festival with the motto Europe is my Home. Outside the Ivan Vazov National Theater a graffiti happening is due followed by a concert of the children’s choir of the Bulgarian National Radio.

The month of May will be busy with other initiatives honoring Europe Day – a photo contest, The European Union and its Neighbors, sports events, happenings, culinary contests, workshops and shows.
