Government spokesman Yiorgos Petalotis left open the possibility of Prime Minister George Papandreou calling on main opposition New Democracy (ND) party leader Antonis Samaras as well as all other party leaders to seek consensus and understanding in the coming days.
Government spokesman Yiorgos Petalotis left open the possibility of Prime Minister George Papandreou calling on main opposition New Democracy (ND) party leader Antonis Samaras as well as all other party leaders to seek consensus and understanding in the coming days.
Speaking at the main news bulletin of the television channel MEGA, Petalotis stressed that "in the coming days, with the specialisation of the Medium-term Stability Programme, that will have a five-year perspective, the parties and the agencies will be summoned for a discussion aiming at an axis on which the shaping of national understanding will be pursued."
Petalotis stressed that such a thing is necessary and reiterated that the ratification of the Medium-term Programme will take place with the absolute majority of Parliament (151 votes).
