More than 150 representatives of regulatory bodies from Southeast European countries, as well as stakeholders at the electronic telecommunications market from Macedonia and the region take part at the international regulatory conference, held May 16-18 in Ohrid.
Robert Ordanoski, director of the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC), said in the opening address that besides having the opportunity to present this year's activities, representatives of regulatory bodies from Macedonia, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo will have a good opportunity to voice their positions and opinions on certain issues in the related fields.
Monday's agenda includes presentation of AEC's prior activities, whereas the next two days will focus on IT and telecommunications industries, as well as international regulatory policy in the field of telecommunications.
Pertaining to the level of development of telecommunications technology in Macedonia, Ordanoski said the country is slightly lagging behind the western world, but properly placed in the region.
"Our future intention is to contribute to the faster development of electronic communications, stimulate new technologies, and work towards increased development of the economy and society in general", added Ordanoski.
