Croatian general Mladen Kruljac was arrested on Friday, daily newspaper Jutarnji List has reported in its online edition.

The source notes he was the highest ever ranked active army official arrested in the country.

According to Jutarnji List it is believed the general has been detained because of a suspicion of illegal dealings in building plots.
