The embargo on the import of goods from Serbia has tripled the transit of goods through FYRMacedonia, the head of the Macedonian Customs Administration Vanco Kargov said Thursday.

He specified that EUR 150,000 in goods was transported through Macedonia from July 21 to 31.

Kargov said it was not only the volume that grew, but the selection as well. While transit goods used to include mainly oil derivatives, gas and car parts, recently the share of agricultural products has increased, Kargov said.

He added that the number of foreign companies wishing to open a branch in Macedonia in order to export goods to Kosovo has also grown.
