American University in Bulgaria starts new school year

About 1100 students from 44 countries are studying various subjects at the university, and 97 per cent of newly-admitted students will receive tuition "almost free" because they have been granted financial support from the university, according to a report by television station bTV.

The new academic year of the American University in Bulgaria, in Blagoevgrad, started on August 29 2011.

The culmination of the jubilee celebration of the 20th anniversary of AUBG will be on October 3 in Sofia.
