Croatian electric car XD will have its world premiere on Wednesday at an automobile fair in Frankfurt, Germany.

Croatian electric car XD will have its world premiere on Wednesday at an automobile fair in Frankfurt, Germany.

Interested buyers will have a chance to test drive the car for a day and buy one of the 10 samples built for the "zero" series by the vehicle's producers, Dok-ing company.

"When two years ago we came up with the prototype, we were amongst the first in that segment of auto industry in the world. The lack of money for mass productions weakened our position on the market," XD’s inventor Vjekoslav Majetic says.

They had received offers from Indian investors who wanted to make XD into a cheap electric vehicle, but Majetic sees the car as more of a "status symbol" with a higher price.

In Frankfurt he is to meet potential investors from Porsche group and others from Canada, daily Vecernji List writes.
