PM Berisha: We shall develop a passion in Albanian farmers for planting fruit and nut trees

Prime Minister Sali Berisha addressed today the proceedings of the national Conference on the situation and perspective of the fruit and nut trees (nuts, chestnut, hazelnuts, almond trees) and pomegranate in Albania, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer protection.

Prime Minister Sali Berisha addressed today the proceedings of the national Conference on the situation and perspective of the fruit and nut trees (nuts, chestnut, hazelnuts, almond trees) and pomegranate in Albania, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer protection.

During the conference, the Task Force on the fruit trees, nuts and pomegranate and the study group presented the findings of the job done in cooperation with the agricultural departments in the districts and the forestry service in the regions about the opportunities of cultivation of these trees.

Attending the conference was Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection Genc Ruli, heads of the agriculture institutions and international institutions active in the agriculture sector, lecturers of the University of Agriculture.

While taking the floor at the conference, PM Berisha emphasized that the national project of planting fruit and nut trees is of great importance for the sustainable development of Albania and exploiting every square meter of this land.

PM Berisha reaffirmed the government commitment to make the utmost and mobilize all resources for transformation of Albania into the most beautiful garden of Europe; the government will also provide support so that the local authorities become the main promoters of implementation of this project.
