Adverse weather conditions and crashes have closed roads across Bulgaria, the press center of the Interior Ministry announced.

The traffic on Hemus motorway, Northern Bulgaria, is terminated in the direction to capital Sofia. Only cars are allowed to travel to the northern city of Lovech, while trucks are not.

The traffic on the E-79 road in Western Bulgaria is halted and redirected via the town of Radomir.

All vehicles have to travel with snow chains through the mountain pass of Petrohan.

Through the mountain passes of Prevala, Pamporovo, Rozhen and Pechinsko all vehicles have to put on snow chains and trucks are prohibited from traveling with trailers and semi-trailers.

This is valid also on the roads Peshtera-Batak-Dospat, Dospat-Sarnitsa, Devin-Mihalkovo, Smolyan-Chokmanovo-Rudozem-Gorna Arda and in the region of Velingrad.

In the northern district of Lovech all vehicles have to be with snow chains.

Trucks are not allowed to use Gyueshevo checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Macedonian.
