The low-cost flights will be moving to the Henri Coanda - Otopeni Bucharest International Airport starting on March 25 this year, at the same time with the launching of the new summer timetable, the additional cost per passenger being estimated at 4.5 euros, Bucharest Airport Company spokesman Valentin Iordache told Agerpres on Friday.
'The airlines operating on the Aurel Vlaicu - Baneasa Airport can transfer their flights on the Henri Coanda Airport starting on March 25. The rates per passenger will increase by about 4-4.5 euros, according to our estimations, but the passenger services will significantly improve...,' Valentin Iordache said.
The airlines will pay an additional airport fee on the Otopeni Airport amounting to approximately 4.5 euros per passenger as compared with the Baneasa Airport (Bucharest), but the conditions will be much better than on Baneasa, the Bucharest Airport Company representatives maintain.
At present, several low-cost airlines operate on the Baneasa Airport, among which Blue Air, a Romanian company, Wizz Air from Hungary, German Wings, a Lufthansa division and Vueling, a Spanish company.
Terminal C of the Baneasa Airport was modernized at the end of 2011, the other terminals being scheduled for modernizing until 2013, so the airport should host only business flights
