An agreement has been signed in Krsko, the eastern Slovenia town home to the Krsko nuclear power plant, for the project for evacuation in the event of a nuclear disaster that would greatly effect the city of Zagreb.
The project, planned to improve the evacuation system is worth 526 thousand Euros and saw the town of Krsko, Zagreb and the Romanian city of Cernavoda, which also is home to a nuclear power plant, sign the agreement on Wednesday. The entire project will be financed from EU funds with Zagreb receiving 143 thousand Euros to improve its evacuation systems.
Although the chances of a nuclear catastrophe in Krsko are minimal, any effects would be very serious, and it should be noted that the nuclear power plant is only 25 kilometers from Zagreb and therefore necessary to develop procedures for the possible evacuation of residents." We can not predict a disaster, but we can react in time and save people's lives", said Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic after signing the agreement, reported portal net.hr.

Shut it down,!!! The only reliable plan!!! It is not actually needed , its power is expensive compared to all other options!!! This is also a plant that has had numerous problems in the past...as recent as a year ago......and one of the highest risk reactors in operation!!!, and this BS plan is proof....that even the lunatics that allowed this monstrosity to be built see a very real risk ..... or you better start to plan ....a new Zagreb ....the real ZAG would be in the exclusion zone!! abandon for good if a there was a Fukishima --or Chernobyl ...event !!!.... SHUT IT DOWN!!!!
