According to its members, local animal breeds and the related food products could become the foundation for development of tourism in Bulgaria. In order to promote the benefits of farming local breeds, the society has organized a festival of livestock in Kresna.

The greatest interest is drawn by the Karakachan dog known for its exceptional qualities as a mountain livestock dog. Its skills are appreciated even by farmers in the U.S.
