NATO, EU confidence dropping: survey
Skopje, 16 March 2012 (MIA) - Citizens' confidence in EU and NATO's policies towards Macedonia is barely over fifty percent, shows a survey of daily "Dnevnik", conducted by "Rejting" agency.

Ethnic Albanians have much larger confidence in EU and NATO policies than ethnic Macedonians. Thirty-nine percent of ethnic Macedonians trust NATO and 41 percent have confidence in EU, with the percentage being 82 and 85 respectively among ethnic Albanians.

These results are obtained in a situation when about 90 percent of Macedonian citizens favor the country's NATO and EU accession.

The high percentage of confidence in US and German policies towards Macedonia has resulted in positive responses for the president and PM of these countries - Barack Obama and Angela Merkel respectively. The same goes for Russian President Vladimir Putin, whereas Macedonian citizens trust French President Nicolas Sarkozy the least.
