Sarajevo University promoted ten PhDs

Ten PhDs were promoted in Chancellor's Office of the University in Sarajevo (UNSA) today from technical, economic, medical, leg, biological, physical and chemical science, and Chancellor of UNSA and promoter prof dr Faruk Caklovica said these are all essential scientific areas.

Ten PhDs were promoted in Chancellor's Office of the University in Sarajevo (UNSA) today from technical, economic, medical, leg, biological, physical and chemical science, and Chancellor of UNSA and promoter prof dr Faruk Caklovica said these are all essential scientific areas.

Following students were promoted PhDs: Drago Ezgeta, Almir Ahmethodzic, Rasid Hadzovic and Nerman Rustempasic (technical science), Goran Sabotic (economics ), Amela Dizdarevic - Bostandzic (medical), Rebeka Kotlo (legal), Fatima Pustahija (biological), Suada Sulejmanovic (physical) and Sacira Mandal (chemical science).

Chancellor Caklovica emphasized that doctors of science are more necessary than ever in projects of building of science-research capacities and is a factor of stability and progress of BiH society, adding that UNSA is reliance of peace and progress which is what Sarajevo University declarations testifies.

"If we understand that education is imperative of development and strengthening of stable democratic societies then we must put all resources of society in function of it'', he said.
Chancellor illustrated this statement with stance of the European Commission to propose restrictions in all segments of society at a time of economic crisis and recession except education and science.

So far over 160.000 students successfully graduated at University in Sarajevo, which is also the oldest university in BiH, over 5.200 students finished master study, whereas 2.586 candidates from 43 areas got PhD.
