More than 13,000 ha of vineyards in Bulgaria have been revamped under European programmes, said the CEO of the Vine and Wine Executive Agency Krassimir Koev.
Fourteen EU member countries including France, Italy and Spain, are the biggest producers of grapes and wine accounting for 97 percent of the wine production, and Bulgaria is among them.
This country subscribes to a policy of preventing the industrialization of viticulture, because large-scale production would lower the quality of this traditional product and robs it of a good future, Koev explained.
