On April 19, Romanian President Traian Basescu signed the law ratifying the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between the EU and Serbia.

The Law on the ratification of the Agreement was adopted by the Romanian Parliament's Senate on April 2.

At the proposal of the Foreign Policy Committee chairman, Titus Corlaceanu, with the Law on the ratification, the Senate adopted the Statement on European standards of honoring minority rights.

The statement on honoring minority rights, adopted with the ratification of the SAA, is a sort of stipulation to Serbia to honor the rights of the Romanian minority.
