9 members of the Board of Directors of the World Bank Group paid a two-day visit to Bulgaria to get acquainted with the progress of partnership in support of its European membership.

A year ago the WB adopted a new strategy for partnership with Bulgaria and months ago it signed with its government a Memorandum for cooperation for acceleration of the absorption of EU funds via granting of analytic and consultancy services.

“Being a young EU member-state, Bulgaria has huge potential to achieve intelligent and sustainable growth and serve as an example to other countries that try to become EU member-states,” the spokesperson of the delegation Hassan Ahmed Taha commented at the end of the visit.
