Employment rises slightly in Croatia

The number of people employed in Croatia rose in April by 0.8 per cent compared with March, making the total number of employed people in the country now 1,374 million, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

The number of people employed in Croatia rose in April by 0.8 per cent compared with March, making the total number of employed people in the country now 1,374 million, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

Out of the total of those employed in April, 635,999 were women, which is 0.9 per cent more than in March.

The largest drop in employment came in the construction industry with a 0.4 per cent drop. The largest rise came in the education sector with 1.1 per cent growth.

The total number of Tradespeople and Freelancers employed in April was 209,860, which is 4,790 people or 2.3 per cent more than in March, reported daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija.
