The Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church has decided at the meeting in Belgrade that His Holiness, Serbian Patriarch Irinej be enthroned at the ceremony in the Pec Patriarchate on October 3.

The Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church has decided at the meeting in Belgrade that His Holiness, Serbian Patriarch Irinej be enthroned at the ceremony in the Pec Patriarchate on October 3.

The statement on the regular session of the Assembly under the presidency of Patriarch Irinej, held from April 26 till May 5, reads that the Assembly confirmed last year’s decision to build the temple and memorial center dedicated to all Serbian victims of the 20th century wars, as well as victims of NATO aggression against the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999 and victims of the March pogrom against Serbs in Kosovo in 2004.
