The Prosecution suspected Geci of trafficking in organs of abducted civilians, who were tortured and killed by members of the terrorist KLA in the infamous "yellow house" near Kukes, as well as another case of war crimes at the camp in Drenica in Kosovo.

Today in Pristina, EULEX's Executive Police Department under the supervision of the SPRK (Special Prosecutor's Office) carried out a house search and arrested a male suspect in connection with war crimes allegedly committed between April and June 1999.

A member of the former KLA, Sabit Geci, who has been arrested by the EULEX police in Pristina today, is suspected of having committed war crimes against Serbs and other non-Albanians in a camp near the town Kukës in the north of Albania in 1999 Year – stated Serbian Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric.

He explained that the Prosecution suspected Geci of trafficking in organs of abducted civilians, who were tortured and killed by members of the terrorist KLA in the infamous "yellow house" near Kukes, as well as another case of war crimes at the camp in Drenica in Kosovo.

Vekaric said the arrest was the result of very good cooperation between the Serbian Prosecutor's Office and the EULEX police and judiciary.

Representatives of the EU mission in the province have announced the arrest was carried out by order of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, and after an investigation that the EULEX police conducted on the basis of information from the Serbian Prosecutor's Office and claims of former Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte about the responsibility of the KLA members for the monstrous crimes and trafficking in human bodies during and after the conflict in Kosovo.
