Interior ministers of Serbia and Bulgaria, Ivica Dacic and Tzvetan Tzvetanov, signed a police cooperation agreement in Sofia.

Interior ministers of Serbia and Bulgaria, Ivica Dacic and Tzvetan Tzvetanov, signed a police cooperation agreement in Sofia.

The agreement was signed during the Third Meeting of the Committee of Ministers held by the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe.

According to some earlier reports from Sofia, the agreement is a follow-up to a 2003 memorandum between the two countries, introducing modern forms of police cooperation.

Tzvetanov said that he and Dacic discussed a possibility of allowing EU citizens to cross the Serbian border with just personal ID cards.

Dacic stated he expects all friendly countries, including Bulgaria, to share their experience in EU integration with Serbia. The Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe was signed in Vienna in May 2006.
