Members of National Council for Science, Technological Development presented

At a press conference, at which members of the Council were presented, Djelic said that the National Council for Science and Technological Development will help the relevant Ministry with the drafting and implementation of development strategies in this sector.

Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic  stated that the National Council for Science and Technological Development will announce recommendations concerning science and technology in Serbia every year in March.

At a press conference, at which members of the Council were presented, Djelic said that the National Council for Science and Technological Development will help the relevant Ministry with the drafting and implementation of development strategies in this sector.

Djelic said that the Council is tasked with controlling the quality of scientific knowledge in Serbia and issuing recommendations for the development of science and technology and its term of office will be five years.

National Council President Vera Dondur explained that the Council is to facilitate cooperation between science and technology with the aim of economic development of the country, the creation of better living conditions and restoration of youth’s confidence in the country, to encourage them to stay in Serbia and do work and research there.

Council members are as follows: scientific advisor to the Mihajlo Pupin Institute Sanja Vranes, academician Zoran Petrovic of the Institute for Physics, scientific advisor Vesna Matovic of the Institute for Literature and Art, Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Novi Sad Stevan Pilipovic and Professor at the Faculty of Electronics in Nis Miodrag Petkovic.

Members are also Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Kragujevac Milos Djuran, academician Nikola Tasic, academician Ljubisa Rakic, Professor at the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad Ljubomirka Krkljus and academician Miodrag Colic from the Military Medical Academy.

The Council will also include Director of the Advanced Risk Technologies from Germany Aleksandar Jovanovic, Director of the Cini Company from Cacak Slobodan Spasovic, Hemofarm President Miodrag Babic and General Director of Farmakom from Sabac Miroslav Bogicevic.

Council members are also President and Vice-President of the Foreign Investors Council – General Manager of Telenor in Serbia Kjell-Morten Jonsen and Goran Pitic, economist.
