One person was arrested today in the region of Djakovica, on suspicion that this person is linked to war crimes committed in northern Albania, EULEX announced.
The statement reads that the case is related to the ongoing EULEX investigation regarding possible torture of persons held at the premises of the self-proclaimed KLA in northern Albania during the 1998-1999 conflict.
Two more suspects related to the case have been identified.
Serbian authorities suspect that the KLA members brought abducted Kosovo Serbs into northern Albania, removed their bodily organs and sold them at the black market.
Beta news agency learned that the arrest is connected with the investigation conducted against the former commander of the self-proclaimed KLA, Sabit Geci, for war crimes in the territory of Albania, during the Kosovo conflict in 1998-99.
Geci is in custody in Kosovo. Serbian Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric said the arrest was the result of good cooperation between the Serbian Prosecutor's Office and EULEX.
In Kosovo, in May, along with Geci, arrested was Dzemsit Krasnici who was suspected of having committed war crimes against Serbs and other non-Albanians in the camp near the village of Kukes, in northern Albania.
