The Serbian and Chinese prime ministers, Mirko Cvetkovic and Wen Jiabao respectively, stated that mutual political trust between Belgrade and Beijing is basis for fostering strategic partnership between the two countries.

After the meeting with Wen in Hangzhou, China, Cvetkovic underscored in a statement for Tanjug that it has been agreed that the two countries should continue their economic cooperation, particularly in the domain of economy, infrastructure, agriculture, science, technology and culture.

According to Cvetkovic, the Chinese prime minister stated that China will not alter its policy of support to the territorial integrity of Serbia, while Cvetkovic reiterated Serbia's support to the One China policy.

"The Chinese prime minister reiterated China's principled stand regarding Serbia's territorial integrity, and added that the country backs the honoring of international right and resolving all open issues via dialogue," Cvetkovic said.

He added that he was assured that his Chinese hosts will have a constructive role in respect of the Kosovo issue.

China is one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council with the right of veto that have not recognized the unilateral proclamation of the independence of Kosovo.

Earlier on Friday, Cvetkovic conferred with Chairman of China's National People's Congress Wu Bangguo.
