European Parliamentary Assembly rapporteur in Serbia Jelko Kacin told members of Parliament's Committee on European Integration in Belgrade on Dec. 21 that the European Parliament would ratify Serbia's Stabilization and Association Agreement on Jan. 19.

European Parliamentary Assembly rapporteur in Serbia Jelko Kacin told members of Parliament's Committee on European Integration in Belgrade on Dec. 21 that the European Parliament would ratify Serbia's Stabilization and Association Agreement on Jan. 19.

A statement released by Serbian Parliament said the European Parliament would vote on a resolution on Serbia's European integration on the same day. Kacin also said that he intended to invite all of the EU parliaments that had not ratified the treaty to do so without further delay.

Committee chairman Laslo Varga told Kacin that officials were almost finished answering the part of the European Commission's questionnaire that had to do with Parliament.

In an interview with B92, Kacin said that the allegations voiced by Dick Marty in his recent report on human organ trafficking in Kosovo could not be an excuse for calling off negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina.

Kacin stressed that the dialog would not be held on the presidential level, the level of prime ministers, or the ministerial level, but at a lower level.

He added that he had not only been shocked by Marty's report but also by the lack "of concrete evidence" in it. He stressed that he had thought that as a former prosecutor, Marty would have tried to present more evidence.
