Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic said that Serbia will in 2011 get a real estate cadastre, enabling registration of each square centimetre in the country.
Dulic announced that this year the state will continue to regulate property-legal relations of land, because without that Serbia cannot develop nor join the EU.
The Minister recalled that the problems in this area were neglected in recent decades and that Serbia still lacks a rational planning.
The real estate cadastre will define each real estate location, size and address of the registered right holder, the Minister explained.
After the registration, he added, people will be able to prove their rights in the easiest and most reliable way through the digital cadastral database.
This will enable faster processing of mortgage loans and mortgage registration, which will increase safety and market value of real estate and facilitate sale, which will further regulate the property market, said Dulic.
