Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic has stated that the Serbian government should be much better and more efficient.
Only if huge changes and turnovers take place, can we expect to win the next parliamentary elections, Dinkic stated for the Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti.
“If nothing changes, the ruling coalition will suffer a heavy defeat. There is no more time for waiting,” Dinkic said.
Dinkic said that the running of the government should be much more serious so that it could restore its authority.
“Unfortunately, our government has lost authority and I am completely aware of the fact,” Dinkic stressed, adding that many colleagues and partners in the government have also came to this conclusion.
Dinkic said that he discussed the issue with Serbian President Boris Tadic, and added that he believes that the president will have enough strength to make the right moves.
When asked about staff changes in the government, Dinkic said that these changes need to be essential and serious rather than superficial and marketing-oriented.
“During the last year of its mandate, the government needs to be more determined and take initiatives so that it could show results to the citizens,” Dinkic said, adding that he believes that the right decision will be made.
