Chairman of the Serbian parliament's Administrative Committee Nenad Konstantinovic said Thursday that there are no legal obstacles for G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic and member of the same party Verica Kalanovic to serve in the parliament, after the parliament approves their resignations from ministerial offices.

In a statement with Tanjug, Konstantinovic specified that the G17 Plus parliamentary group would have to replace two of its sitting representatives to make room for Dinkic and Kalanovic.

He reminded that Dinkic and Kalanovic were listed on the electoral list in 2008, so they can now become MPs.

If someone from the G17 Plus group resigns, Dinkic and Kalanovic could take their place. This depends on the people in their parliamentary group, Konstantinovic said.

One day after Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic started the procedure to remove Dinkic from office, Dinkic resign the post of deputy prime minister and economy minister and told reporters he intends to become the G17 Plus parliamentary whip.

Minister for the National Investment Plan Verica Kalanovic also announced she would serve as an MP.

G17 Plus has 24 seats in the Serbian parliament.

The Serbian government relieved Thursday State Secretary for Finance Slobodan Ilic of office, it was announced after the government session.
