NBS foreign exchange reserves down to EUR 9.86 billion

The net foreign exchange reserves defined as foreign exchange reserves less banks' required reserves and drawings from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) amounted to EUR 4.92 billion at the end of January.

The foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) amounted to EUR 9.86 billion at the end of January, which is EUR 140.5 million less compared to the end of 2010 primarily due to inter-currency fluctuations, whereas the dinar has strengthen against the euro by 0.9 percent, the central bank stated in a release on Thursday.

The net foreign exchange reserves defined as foreign exchange reserves less banks' required reserves and drawings from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) amounted to EUR 4.92 billion at the end of January.

Including the banks' foreign exchange reserves, which on the last day of January amounted close to EUR 1.27 billion, the total foreign exchange reserves of the country reached EUR 11.13 billion.
