Serbian Minister of Labor and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic said Thursday that, after new elections, any government that would have more than 15 members would be too big and too expensive and inappropriate for the situation in Serbia.
“Regardless of who forms the government and who is in its composition, Serbia's government needs no more than 15 members,” Ljajic said.
According to him, each ministry needs only one state secretary and a number of assistant ministers should correspond to the number of sectors in them.
Commenting on the announced government reshuffle, Ljajic recalled that he believed it was far more likely the change in the government would only mean replacing individual officials, rather than a reshuffle which would cut the number of ministries.
Ljajic stressed that public sector reform was a process far more comprehensive than a government reshuffle only.
