Miodrag Kostić, President of MK Group, has transferred part of his know-how and experience and tried to answer the question “How to succeed in business?” to students of economics and management at the Faculty of Economics, Finance and Administration (FEFA), within the public debate titled “Leaders”.
On this occasion, instead of advice he has asked, a second-year student has obtained two hectares of land owned by MK Group at his disposal.
“A successful businessman knows that educated young workforce represents the most important resource of a company. No system can function without people with qualities. Successful business requires a lot of work and knowledge, as well vision, commitment and persistence in following that vision. It also demands associates who share your vision, enthusiasm and energy and complement you. It is also necessary to quickly adjust to ongoing business trends, otherwise global competition will soon get ahead of you, while competitive, sport spirit is essential,” underlined Miodrag Kostić, President of MK Group to students of the Faculty of Economics, Finance and Administration.
“Every successful person I have met has said what sounds like a phrase to us, while actually it is true: work accounts for 99 percent of success, and talent for one. All other roads are on the level of a statistical deviation and winning a lottery, highlighted Miodrag Kostić, adding that a good idea is most important when starting a business. “If there is good idea and firm belief in its implementation, start-up capital will come.”
When a student whose family is engaged in water melon growing asked him for advice on improving business, Miodrag Kostić provided a practical solution and offered two hectares of land so that the young entrepreneur could expand the land he cultivated. It was agreed to share revenues from these two hectares in half, while potential losses would be a responsibility of Miodrag Kostić.
Realising problems encountered by the educational system of today, as well as the significance of knowledge for the overall growth and progress of society, this is only the beginning of fruitful cooperation and development of even closer relations between MK Group and the Faculty of Economics, Finance and Administration.
Owing to cooperation with MK Group, which advocates know-how and skills transfer between universities and the business sector, students of specific faculties have for years been undergoing internship, working on their graduate and master papers, as well as PhD theses, in this company. In cooperation with the University of Novi Sad, as of this year MK Group provides students of tourism and hotel business with professional internship in the facilities of MK Mountain Resort at Mt. Kopaonik.
