Member of the Serbian parliament Bozidar Delic joined back the ranks of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), and the party believes this means the beginning of the end for the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), from which Delic defected back to the SRS, while the SNS say that “everyone chooses their own path.”

In the House of the National Assembly, Delic told reporters that his previous decision to cross over to the SNS had been due to his initial belief that the party could do much more for the country, but added that two and a half years later, he had realized that the party did not have any program whatsoever, that it was a “scam” and that “patriots and honest people do not stand a chance” there.

“This is a party in the hands of two men,” Delic said, observing that aside from the party's leader and his deputy, Tomislav Nikolic and Aleksandar Vucic, respectively, everyone else only makes up the party's body.

He added that he was getting his information about the SNS policy and ideas through newspapers, an additional reason why he had chosen to get back to the SRS.

The SNS leader said Monday that the return of the SNS Main Board deputy chairman Delic to SRS was an event expected from a year back.

“Delic had certain desires and ambitions that he could not realize in the SNS,” Nikolic told journalists.

When over two years ago the SRS broke up, with Nikolic establishing an MP group Forward Serbia and the Serbian Progressive Party, Bozidar Delic defected from the SRS to join the newly-formed deputy group and party.

The SRS MP group in the Serbian parliament currently has 58 members, while the SNS has 20 deputies.
