The parliament adopted Friday a set of amendments to the government law and a law on ministries, which will allow a reduction of the number of ministries within the government and for the prime minister to act as the minister of finance as well.
All members of the government, state secretaries and heads of government organizations must now support government views in their public appearances and information about government work can be disclosed only in accordance with the rules of procedure.
The new legislation will allow the government to be more efficient as the number of ministries will be down to 17.
The goals of the new laws are to rationalize and raise the efficiency of the administration and reduce public expenditure.
The laws will enter into force the day they are published in the Official Gazette.
