Dinar strengthens against euro by 40 paras

Since the beginning of 2011, the central bank has intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market only once when it purchased EUR 5 million in order to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.

The dinar will strengthen against the euro by 40 paras on Wednesday, thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 102.0894 and reaching its highest level this year, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released.

The dinar is rising for the fourth consecutive day against the euro, the total increase amounting to RSD 1.5.

Since the beginning of 2011, the central bank has intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market only once when it purchased EUR 5 million in order to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.

The dinar hit its lowest level against the euro this year on January 6, with the exchange rate at RSD 106.4947.
