Edita Tahiri, head of the Pristina delegation in talks with Belgrade, said on May 23 in Pristina that the signing of a freedom of movement agreement was possible by the end of the week, before a visit by Catherine Ashton, the EU's foreign policy chief, to Serbia and Kosovo.
Tahiri told Radio Kosovo that the stances of both delegations were similar as far as issues concerning freedom of movement, trade, energy and telecommunications were concerned.
Kosovo Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi also told the Pristina media that both sides' stances had become more harmonized and that if both sides agreed, the agreement could be signed this week, before Ashton's arrival. He said that the freedom of movement agreement related to the use of personal and travel documents.
The Pristina daily Ekspres, citing anonymous sources, writes that an agreement on freedom of movement would be reached before Ahston's visit to Belgrade on May 26 and Pristina on May 27.
